This $30,000 Ugly Christmas Sweater Is Made With Nearly 25,000 Swarovski Crystals

Tipsy Elves and Swarovski Ugly Christmas Sweater
Tipsy Elves and Swarovski team up to create this expensive ugly Christmas sweater.

An ugly sweater for a pretty penny. Gone are the days of thrifting to find the perfect top for your ugly Christmas sweater parties. In fact, the garish knitwear is getting more luxurious each and every year, with Tipsy Elves’ World’s Most Expensive Ugly Christmas Sweater taking the cake. The brand teamed with Swarovski to create a top valued at $30,000. If you have that kind of money laying around, the shirt is up for grabs at that same price.

This blinged-out version of the brand’s Santa Unicorn sweater, replete with old Saint Nick atop a unicorn with a red-and-white-streaked mane, is made with 24,274 crystals and took 52 hours to make. It features stones all over the body, from collar to arm cuffs, and has a Tipsy Elves logo patch near the bottom right hem. The World’s Most Expensive Ugly Christmas Sweater will make its television debut on the Friday, December 16, episode of Good Morning America in honor of National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day.

“Tipsy Elves is known for its reinvention of the Ugly Christmas Sweater and supplies people with outrageous apparel to spice up their life,” a December 13 release from the label reads. “Swarovski is best known as the world's premier jewelry brand with innovative and unique designs. That makes this not only the most expensive, but also the best ‘ugly’ Christmas sweater!”

The Tipsy Elves brand joins a few other labels offering pricier renditions of the loud sweaters. Whoopi Goldberg’s line of themed pullovers with Lord & Taylor is offered at $139 a piece. And Beyoncé’s “I Sleigh All Day” hoodies (a nod to that “Formation” lyric) come at a cool $60.
