Instagram has a new reigning champ! In addition to being the most-followed person on the social media app, Selena Gomez now boasts the most-liked photo, too.
The 23-year-old "Hands to Myself" singer's winning photo — which has garnered 4.1 million likes and counting, not to mention more than 90,000 comments — features the star modeling a red, ribbed top and bombshell curls. She's sipping from a classic Coco-Cola bottle that reads "You're the Spark," three words from her song "Me & the Rhythm." "when your lyrics are on the bottle 😛" was her fitting caption.

Before Gomez's pic popped to the top, a throwback photo from Justin Bieber, her on-and-off love of five years, had been "hearted" the most times. It featured himself and Gomez lip-locked in the ocean, while they were still an item. (The pair started their tumultuous relationship in 2010.) The snap, which he posted in March and captioned "Feels," has been liked 3.7 million times. It also has more than a million comments.
And before that, Kendall Jenner's bathroom selfie from May 2015, which pictured the model lying on the floor in a sheer dress with her hair curled into hearts, was the most-liked 'Gram. Even after 13 months live, the glam photo is still just behind Bieber's with 3.6 million likes.

All of that said, Gomez has been top dog on Instagram for quite some time, having amassed 89 million followers with her combo of professional shots and candid, behind-the-scenes snaps. So it's no surprise she would soon have the top photo, too. The method to the madness? "It comes in a moment when I capture something happening, and I go, 'Oh, that would be great for Instagram; I should post it,'" she told The Hollywood Reporter for a cover story all about social media. "I know it's boring, but that's genuinely what I do."
She continued, "It wasn't my goal to be the most-followed person," but added, "It's my favorite social platform."
