Serena Williams Wants to Raid This Diva’s Closet, More Answers From Vogue’s 73 Questions Video

Making a racket! Serena Williams answered 73 rapid-fire questions about tennis, her style, those dance moves and more for Vogue’s signature video series. In preparation for the September launch of her Serena Williams clothing line, the Wimbledon 2016 winner warmed up by sitting in the hot seat.

Williams, 34, who outfitted her curves in a burgundy ribbed turtleneck dress, matching coat and high-top Nike sneakers, revealed that she had longstanding love for fashion. If she wasn’t playing tennis (and setting records!), she’d choose to be a designer. Her favorite piece of fashion advice is simple: “be you, wear your style and be confident.” Even though she embraces her own aesthetic, she’d still want to raid one particular person’s closet: Mariah Carey’s. “She has amazing shoes!” Williams exclaimed.

Besides tennis, Williams showed that she has other ways to get active. She demonstrated the victory dances she’d perform after every match: “Gosh, you could Milly Rock on any block,” she said, breaking out with the move. “I’d probably do a little twerking. Maybe a little body roll!” The athlete also talked about recreating Beyoncé’s “7/11” music video in 2015. “She thought it was really cute!” Williams, who also appeared in the singer’s 2016 “Sorry” video, mused.

Williams, who’d love to play a match against the late Althea Gibson (the first black woman to win Wimbledon), even dished on some of her secrets of the game. One pre-match ritual she has is washing her hands before a game “to make sure they’re nice and dry.” Her walk-on song? “Flashdance … What a Feeling” by Irene Cara. She doesn’t celebrate after a victory, though. “After 12 or 13 or 14 [wins], you kind of stop!” she joked.
