If the shoe fits! The Hollywood Reporter just released its annual issue dedicated to Hollywood’s Top 25 Red Carpet Designers, and 2016’s is covered by none other than the king of the red-soled stiletto, Christian Louboutin.
The Parisian designer shares the cover with one of his biggest fans, Kerry Washington. Louboutin marked the occasion by personalizing a pair of pearl-studded sandals for the Scandal actress as a present to her 2-year-old daughter, Isabelle, who came with her mom to the shoot. (The sole reads, “Pour my dear Kerry,” surrounded by stars and hearts.)
“It was very obvious they genuinely adore each other and have a mutual respect for each other’s trade,” photographer Mary Rozzi, who shot the pair, told THR.
Who else made the short list? Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, who posed alongside My Burberry face Lily James, and Carolina Herrera, joined by Kiernan Shipka. Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton, who designed Duchess Kate‘s wedding dress, was honored, as was Christian Siriano, after being applauded for his work with Leslie Jones earlier this summer. Lady Gaga‘s stylist turned top designer, Brandon Maxwell, who’s dressed Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson and Washington, was also recognized.
