Still foxy! Vivica A. Fox attended the Los Angeles premiere of her new film, Independence Day: Resurgence, on Monday, June 20, looking as flawless and fresh-faced as she did 20 years ago.
The Empire actress, 51, worked it in a plunging custom Ese Azenabor gown. The black, long-sleeved dress featured hand-beaded detailing at the bust, neckline and throughout the bodice as well as sheer sleeves and a daring skirt with a thigh-high split. She added a touch of color with green printed Christian Louboutin pumps and Candy Ice earrings flecked with green stones. But her best accessory was her adorable godson, Christian Kelley, who walked her down the carpet.
Although the first Independence Day film premiered 20 years ago, Fox, who reprises her role of Jasmine Dubrow, hasn’t aged a bit. In June 1996, the then-31-year-old star wowed in an ice-blue slip dress with a matching wrap and minibag for the evening. Her brown locks were swept into an intricate updo that showed off her enviable features.
On the red carpet for the sequel, which also welcomes back original stars Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum, Fox revealed the secret to maintaining her figure. “I be up in the gym just workin’ on my fitness, she my witness!” Fox told Us Weekly, quoting Fergie’s “Fergalicious.” “Yes! Drinking my water, hydrate.”
She also expressed her excitement over reuniting with her costars. “I was really surprised when the cast showed back up, that everyone looked so good. They had been taking really good care of themselves, and they were all really happy to be back,” she continued. “Everyone checked their egos at the door. It was one of the best filming experiences. Considering that we filmed it for four months in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It went really, really well.”
