The company’s cofounder and CEO, Michael Cammarata, credits the experience of gardening with his family — who planted their own fruits and vegetables when he was growing up — with sowing another seed: his passion for sustainability and overall health. The singer, 25, is set to launch his own take on Schmidt’s deodorant called Here + Now in the fall. “Schmidt’s started as a name and it’s become more of a movement,” Cammarata says. “The partnership with Justin really shows that the brand extends beyond a niche.”

After successfully taking on the home and baby markets, the actress, 38, entered the beauty game with the aptly named Honest Beauty in 2015. All products — including skincare, makeup and hair stylers — are free of parabens, paraffins, silicones, talc, petrolatum, mineral oil and synthetic fragrances. Says Alba, “We strive to create trusted products with a focus on ingredient transparency.” And to innovate and grow that clarity, last year Honest landed a $200 million investment for expansion, CEO Nick Vlahos has explained.

The 36-year-old supermodel’s Kora Organics brand turns 10 this year. That’s no small feat for a business that’s 95 percent self-funded, thanks to her success as the first Aussie Victoria’s Secret Angel. For Kerr, who set out to create certified organic and nontoxic formulas she couldn’t find on shelves, it all comes down to the quality of the ingredients — and a precious touch: “Our products are energized with rose quartz, a crystal believed to encourage love and acceptance.” Kerr invests all profits back into the brand, and has just expanded into Japan and the U.K.

Gwyneth Paltrow

The actress and wellness guru, 46, has been a power player in the green space for years, last year raising $50 million in series C funding for her e-commerce/media brand, Goop. In 2016, mindful that “we absorb 60 to 80 percent of what we put on our skin,” she launched her own Goop by Juice Beauty skincare line. The CEO set out to disprove what she calls the myth that if a product “isn’t loaded with chemicals, it can’t possibly work,” she says. Goop-branded product lines include fragrance, skincare and home goods — with surely more to come.
