Venus Williams’ Most Iconic Met Gala Looks: The Tennis Pro’s Best Outfits Over the Years

Venus Williams’ Met Gala looks have been a smash hit over the years. Williams attended her first Met Gala in 2008 where the theme was Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy. The tennis pro stunned in a silver strapless gown. Since her premiere strut on the museum’s iconic stairs, Williams has continued to elevate her fashion. Ahead of the 2026 Met Gala, Williams was announced as one of the event’s cochairs alongside Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman. Williams teased her excitement for the festivities and the theme “Costume Art.” “I love the theme. It’s a perfect fit for me,” Williams said in an April 2026 interview with Vogue. “It’s even more important today because people feel so much pressure to look a certain way. 2025

Williams brought tennis chic to the 2025 Met Gala where the theme was "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." She donned a custom dark green Lacoste polo shirt, high-low hemline tennis skirt and matching long cape.

2024

For the 2024 Met Gala, which had the "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" theme, Williams dazzled in a strapless Marc Jacobs gown. The dress had a sweetheart neckline and featured a sheer panel with mirrored paillettes.

2022

Williams kept it chic during the 2022 Met Gala. With the "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" theme, the athlete opted for a black Chloé suit with a corset top, flared trousers and a tailored blazer. She completed the look with black shades as well as a statement necklace and clutch.

During the 2021 Met Gala, Williams donned a red strapless Prabal Gurung gown for the event’s "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" theme. The dress featured a ruffle bodice and a dramatic train. She had her hair in an updo to show off her Swarovski chandelier earrings.
