Prior to closing the VMAs with an electrifying performance of her new single "Roar" under the Brooklyn Bridge, Perry (in Ungaro animal print) enlisted Jen Atkin to style her hair in a high ponytail and turned heads with her ultra-lush lashes.

Just prior to the VMAs, the "I'm Out" singer swapped her blonde bob for a darker, longer 'do. "I've had the blonde hair for so long, and I got to the point where I really needed a change, and the timing of fall worked out because I do like changing my hair with the season," the performer (in Givenchy Couture) told Us. "I wanted to go darker, but I still liked the energy that the blonde gave me, so I infused the two ideas together."

Celebrity makeup artist Gita Bass matched her makeup to her dress when creating a navy cat eye with Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes in 3L and YSL's Volume Effect Faux Cil mascara. To finish off Gomez's look, Bass slicked on Tom Ford's Black Orchid lip color.
