Sean Combs, a.k.a Diddy, grew up in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
He attended Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he interned at Uptown Records and was promoted to an A&R executive. Soon after, he left to form Bad Boy Records where he signed rapper Notorious B.I.G. and produced hits for major artists including Janet Jackson.
Diddy is also involved with the Sean John clothing line and the fragrance Unforgivable. He produced the reality shows Making the Band and Run's House for MTV and has appeared on Broadway and in several films.
After meeting Jennifer Lopez on the set of a music video, the two dated for two years before splitting in 2001.
Diddy has four children with two different mothers.
