Culinary expert Gail Simmons has lent her skills to Bravo's Top Chef: Washington D.C. and Top Chef Masters, where she has been a judge of the contestants' creations. Simmons graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City and went on to train at Le Cirque 2000 and Vong. The chef has worked for Vogue's food critic Jeffery Steingarten. During her career, Simmons has contributed to several cookbooks, including It Must've Been Something I Ate by Jeffrey Steingarten, and The New American Chef by Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page.
She and her husband Jeremy currently live in New York City.
