You glow, girl! Before her hosting duties got underway, Carrie Underwood hit the red carpet at the 49th Annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tenn., on Wednesday, Nov. 4, modeling a sultry smoky eye that added drama to her coral confection of a dress.
“For Carrie, I wanted to create a take on old Hollywood glam,” celeb makeup artist Melissa Schleicher tells Us Weekly. “I incorporated a more vibrant color palette for a more youthful, yet elegant, look.”
Using all Almay products — the “Smoke Break” singer, 32, is a brand ambassador, after all — Schleicher enhanced Underwood’s flawless complexion using Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup and Concealer, topped by a dusting of Clear Complexion Pressed Powder, Smart Shade Powder Blush in “Pink,” and Bronzer in “Sunkissed.”
Then, to create the Grammy-winning star’s smoky eye, Schleicher relied on Almay’s Intense i-Color Evening Smoky Eyeshadow. The makeup artist lined Underwood’s eyes with the Classic Eye Liner Pencil in “Black” and amped up her lashes with Intense i-Color Volumizing Mascara in “Midnight for Hazel Eyes.” (Underwood’s lashes also got an extra boost thanks to two sets of lashes from Smoke and Mirrors.)
Finally, Schleicher glossed the “Before He Cheats” singer’s pout with Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick in “Nude-Light,” and off she went!
