What happens when you're a celeb hairstylist and you lose your luggage? You run to the drugstore!
At least, that's what Khloe Kardashian's go-to stylist, Jen Atkin, did when she landed in Chicago with the reality star on Monday, April 27, only to discover that her glam kit was MIA.
No worries! Atkin, who also styles Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Jennifer Connelly, simply hustled to Walgreens to see what she could find. "When your hair kit doesn't make your flight? You make lemonade out of sour lemons at the local Walgreens! Wish me luck today!" she wrote, adding on the crucial note, "At least I found pink leopard!"
Indeed she did—a pink leopard beauty bag, to be precise. Atkin also grabbed a John Frieda blow-dryer, a Con-Air curling iron and clips, Revlon and Studio Beauty brushes, and styling products by Frederic Fekkai, L'Oreal Paris, Dove, TIGI, and Sexy Hair. (Plus, a Kardashian Beauty Hair straightener snuck in there.) Grand total for the 17 products purchased: An impressive $100.
Working her magic, the pro used those tools to style Kardashian's hair from a knotted updo, which she wore on the plane, to loose, glossy beach waves. After that, the (currently) blonde beauty, 30, slipped into a strapless olive dress and metallic heels, and headed out to the Kardashian Beauty event.
While Atkin was originally nervous to work with new products, she was thrilled with the end result. "I learned today I can work with a kit that costs $100 total! I even fell in love with some new products today from my drugstore purchases," the stylist wrote via Instagram, "[especially] the @johnfriedaus blowdryer! #HappyAccident"
