Chanel's darling just got a promotion! The label announced on Monday, May 23, that Lily-Rose Depp, who currently stars in the campaign for Chanel Pearl eyewear, will also be the face of its latest fragrance, Chanel No. 5 L'Eau.
Confirming the news on Monday, May 23, Depp, 16, wrote via Instagram, "I'm so excited to announce that I am the face of the new Chanel Number 5 L'EAU! ❤️ @chanelofficial #newchanel5."
And Chanel is equally pleased. "[Lily-Rose] embodies her generation and its values of freedom and boldness to perfection, bringing to the iconic fragrance of the House her youthful freshness and beauty," the release announcing her appointment stated.
The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis is following in her model mom's footsteps, as Paradis posed for Chanel's Coco fragrance in the '90s. (She's since modeled the brand's handbags and makeup.)
Aspiring actress Lily-Rose — whose latest film, The Dancer, premiered at Cannes on May 13 — has been a constant fixture in the front row at Chanel fashion shows for the past few years. She even participated in the label's casino-themed couture show in July 2015. She joins fellow brand ambassadors Kristen Stewart, Keira Knightley and Diane Kruger.
Lily-Rose's first Chanel No. 5 L'Eau campaign is slated to be released for the Fall 2016 season.
