Fooled ya! Shay Mitchell debuted a summer hair makeover for one night only. The Pretty Little Liars star, 29, wore a realistic blonde wig on the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards 2016 red carpet in Toronto on Sunday, June 19.
“Trying to figure out if blondes really do have more fun… love my glam for today,” the naturally brunette actress Instagrammed the night before. Celeb hairstylist Chris Appleton revealed that it was a wig via his own Instagram! The pro, who also works with Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and Rita Ora, used Uberliss products for the custom creation, and thanked colorist Shah Karegar for the dye job. Later that night, he elevated her strands with a side part and wild and wavy rockstar curls.
To make her lighter locks really pop, Mitchell chose an all-black outfit. The Mother’s Day actress wowed in a sexy Olcay Gulsen slipdress with a hip-length slit that displayed matching undies and her Giuseppe Zanotti Design sandals. She finished off her look with gold hoops and gold midi rings by Jennifer Fisher Jewelry and an embellished Lineapelle belt that accentuated her waist.
Mitchell, a Toronto native, attended the awards show along with her Pretty Little Liars costars Ashley Benson and Lucy Hale. She also presented an award to Nick Jonas, her “Under You” music video costar. Winners of the night included Drake, another Torontonian, who scored five awards including Video of the Year.
