The Trick to Getting Anne Hathaway's Glossy Lip Stain Look
With her gamine crop, porcelain skin, and doe-eyed makeup, Anne Hathaway bears a striking resemblance to Audrey Hepburn. But at Monday night's The Dark Knight Rises premiere, the 29-year-old gave her classic beauty look a modern element with glossy, rose-tinged lips.
"Anne wore a white, statuesque, [Prabal Gurung] gown for the NYC premiere, and I wanted to make sure that her beauty was every bit as timeless as her dress," Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee said.
To do this, Lee applied the brand's Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Rivoli ($33, chanel.com) as a stain on the lips, blotting to achieve the desired amount of intensity. To keep it from going too flat, she then dabbed on Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream ($19.50, elizabetharden.com) for moisture. "The result was a beautiful rosy hue," she said.
To complete the palette, Lee used soft vanilla shadow and black cake liner on the eyes, along with a coral-peach blush on the cheeks.
