To get into the character of a recovering alcoholic singer in Country Strong, Gwyneth Paltrow hit the sauce -- hard!

During a Friday appearance on The Rachael Ray Show, Paltrow, 38, explains how she immersed herself in the role.
"You just get really drunk all the time. Which is awesome!" the Oscar winner said.

"At least I did anyway, it's not very professional," Paltrow told Rachael Ray. "There's a Bloody Mary at 10 a.m. and keep it going all day!"
Now that she's no longer slinging back cocktails on-set, Paltrow may look to her favorite cleanse, the Clean program by Dr. Alejandro Junger. In Thursday's GOOP newsletter, Paltrow wrote, "It is really just the thing if you are in need of a good detox -- wanting some mental clarity and to drop a few pounds...Here's to a happy liver and an amazing 2011!"

I can't imagine her being drunk, i don't really watch her movies she but she always seems so elegant and graceful

I've always thought she had a drinking problem w/all those quotes about Americans & America & those quips about British women being drunk in public. She's been caught too many times w/out a filter.
