She hasn't exactly gone away, but it's been many months since Lindsay Lohan has spoken out to the press regarding her rehab stay and the alleged jewelry theft that could land her back in the slammer.
"I feel great," Lohan, 24, tells Extra in an interview airing Tuesday night.
In the sedate, clear-headed chat, the blond-again Mean Girls actress says: "As long as I'm focusing on the one thing that I know I need to put forth in my life, which is you know, my recovery and stuff, then I'm doing good and that's most important for me."
Lohan's next court date in the ongoing jewelry case is March 10. (Lohan must choose whether to take a plea deal and go to jail, or let the case go to trial.)
She acknowledges it will be an uphill battle to get acting work in Hollywood again. "There's gonna be a lot of steps that I have to go through to kind of prove myself again and get the trust from the people that I respect to work with," she said.
"I need to . . . prove I can be insurable again," admitted the star. "I don't think I am right now."
