As well she should: Thanks to five weeks of marathon dance rehearsals with pro Derek Hough -- and Freshology diet delivery meals -- the 5-foot-4 mom of two has burned off more than 20 pounds.

"I'm working so hard," Lake, 43, tells the new issue of Us Weekly (out Friday). "It's a challenge to really push my body, but it's so fun!"

Having gone down three sizes since September, Lake -- who's slated to host a syndicated talk show in 2012 -- knows the value of her time in the rehearsal studio with Hough.

"I'm using muscles I wouldn't use in the gym or hiking, which is what I love to do," she explains. The best part? "Dancing doesn't feel like working out…even though I'm covered in sweat!"

I found it verydisturbing that we have professional trying to teach something that they have been doing and not have the compassion of treating there partners with more compassion and undewrstanding thaty this is new and what took them 15 +years to train someone in a very short time I also think the judging should reevaluate there grading. I also feel it's becoming to look like olympic and professional ice skating evaluations when they are so one sided and you can almost tell whos the favorite by the judges. I've lost interest since the contestants have been brought in with there celebrit influence or family and it then depends on the popularityu of the call in and there feelings toward the indidules. Let's get away from the promotiuon nof the sexual and gender biasis and keep it to the fact of dancing. I feel the come out of the closet and racial gender changes have now brought the show dow. I a,m not a racial or homophobic but who caresa I'm just tired of them craming down everyones throat. There personal life and beliefs should stay with them and not be brought out on a potential great program. Let's start over and if need be bring in a couple of nobodies from the public. Both Derel and Maks are very good at what they do, lets give them credit and hopefully Maks will treat his students as such.

I'm sorry but I saw the show last night, and I could not believe Marks, I thought he was rude, & loud mouthed, I use to really like him, but he's at the bottom of the list, he's been mouthy a few times, and sitting out here ans hearing him and watching him makes me wish I was standing in front of him so I could slap his face, I love Len and he has no business talking to him like that, or anyone else, I don't know who HE THINKS made him God, but that's one thing he's NOT, Rickie look GREAT, good job girl, keep up the good work, and you are doing GREAT on DWTS, Now Nancy need to take some lessons from you, not just some , a WHOLE BUNCH, and please tell her that her legs are to FAT for short skirts, can't believe she can't se it. Everyone else, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK U ARE DOING now

Riki Lake is doing really well. But she has an upper edge being on Hairspray (where she danced). I like her and I like Derek a lot but I'm rooting for Robert or JR

She's doing awesomely. Her loss is showing and she's looking beautiful. Just don't lose too much or the age starts to show. Look at Demi Moore. Too thin ages a woman. I hope she wins the show. Her spirt is the most beautiful thing about her!

Good for you. You look great and your dancing with Derek is wonderful.

  • October 27, 2011 - 1:50pm Amy Travis

Her dancing is very good. These aren't 20 year olds out there dancing. She is good, and I am not a fan, but see how good she is.
