Does Shenae Grimes have a thing for brooding rockers?

Though Star claims the 21-year-old 90210 actress is secretly dating John Mayer, Grimes insists there's no truth behind the rumored romance.

"According to Star magazine John Mayer and I are in secret sexy cahoots," Grimes tweeted Wednesday. Unahppy with the way the tabloid portrayed her in its story, Grimes added: "How wonderful for me…if wonderful meant embarrassing."

Seconds a source close to Mayer: "They are not dating."

The "Gravity" singer's rep refused to comment directly, saying only that "Star magazine is not a credible source."
