On Tuesday, Hollywood's most anticipated baby, Maxwell Drew Johnson, finally made her grand debut. Among her biggest fans: mom Jessica Simpson, dad Eric Johnson and her maternal grandmother, Tina Simpson!
While out on a coffee run at an L.A. Starbucks with a group of family members, Tina was overheard gushing about her hours-old granddaughter.
"Maxwell is so precious and peaceful," she said, according to a witness, who added that the whole group, which included Ashlee Simpson, Eric's mother and Jessica's assistant, was in a happy mood. (Maxwell is Tina's second grandchild -- Ashlee's son Bronx, 3, her son with ex-husband Pete Wentz -- is her first.)
The Simpson-Johnson kin has been sticking close together since arriving at an L.A. hospital early Tuesday morning. Just hours before Jessica gave birth to her daughter, who weighs 9 lbs. 13 oz. and measures a healthy 21 3/4 inches, the family gathered for a group breakfast.
"The party included Joe and Tina Simpson," another witness shares. "They all sat at a corner table together and were in good spirits. The family was joking about astrological signs and what traits various family members had, and what the new baby could be like. Tina said she felt Jessica was in good spirits while others joked Eric seemed to be the nervous one."
Tuesday afternoon, the Fashion Star mentor, 31, announced the arrival of her first-born on her official website.
"We are so grateful for all the love, support, and prayers we have received," she wrote. "This has been the greatest experience of our lives!"
