Mama's girl! Kelly Clarkson and her daughter River are two peas in a pod, the singer proved on Sunday, Dec. 21.
Clarkson, 32, took to Instagram after her Miracle on Broadway show in Nashville, Tenn. to share an adorable new photo with her baby girl. After playing to a packed crowd on Saturday night, the "Wrapped in Red" performer stepped backstage to canoodle River Rose, 6 months.
She posted a shot from the sweet moment, in which Clarkson can be seen holding her daughter's tiny hands and giving her a big open-mouthed grin. Little River, whose father is Clarkson's husband of one year, Brandon Blackstock, smiles right back.
The mother-and-daughter pair are both dressed in festive attire for the holiday show — Clarkson in a red lace dress and River in a red dress with white trim and a feathered headband.
"This is how River and I feel about our first annual Miracle On Broadway show!" the American Idol alum captioned the image. "It was beyond incredible thanks to all of you!"
Clarkson recruited big stars for her charity show, teaming up with the likes of Reba McEntire (her husband's stepmother), Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Kacey Musgraves, and Meghan Trainor, among others. The singers performed holiday favorites at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
"I basically just called everyone I know," she told reporters before the event. "I called my friends. I called my mother-in-law first, because I figured if I could tie Reba in, people would say yes. She probably just said yes because she’s my mother-in-law, and it would be awkward at Christmas if she was, like, ‘Oh, I turned you down.' But she said yes first and then everybody kind of started saying yes."
