What a beautiful baby!

Twelve days after giving birth, supermodel Miranda Kerr, 27, shared the first photo of her son, taken by her husband Orlando Bloom, 34.

Named Flynn, the newborn weighed 9 lbs, 12 oz -- "a very healthy and big baby boy," Kerr blogged on her Kora Organics site Tuesday.

"I gave birth to him naturally, without any pain medication, and it was a long, arduous and difficult labour, but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it," Kerr wrote. "I could not have done it without him."

"We are so happy and are enjoying our time together as a family," Kerr, who secretly tied the knot with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor in July 2010, added. "He is our little ray of sunshine."

The Victoria's Secret model also thanked her fans for their "beautiful well-wishes and your lovely thoughts and comments. I haven't had a lot of time to read many comments or to respond, but please know I will when I get a chance."

Yay! I'm so happy to see a sexy woman breastfeeding her baby! She's providing a great example for young mothers everywhere and helping to normalize a natural and beautiful process.

Congratulations to Miranda and Orlando for their beautiful, healthy baby boy, I love this picture! Beautiful in Life, people need to stop being so damn judgmental about things.

I know that Breastfeeding is a natural process, though I would rather see Flynn's face instead of him attached to her breast.

and *not* him on his mother's breast I mean.

I know that Breastfeeding is a natural process, though I would rather see a picture of Flynn, and him on his mother's breast. Sorry.

For those saying she should cover up.. she's in her OWN HOME! *shaking head*

While I admire the fact that she is breastfeeding, I don't think they display this type of picture just to show that breastfeeding is acceptable. Particularly on a beautiful model. I don't think people would have the same reaction to seeing a picture of a "regular" person breastfeeding.

breastfeeding is probably one of the best things you can do for your child and yourself.......any way i hope you and orlando love your son the way my paarents love me

F off Kyiia.I never passed judgement on you. I simply told you that she doesn't need to cover up.Most babies don't like a cover over their head any more than you like a tablecloth over yours. They have every right to eat. You obviously have issues. If you don't like her breast then don't look.

  • January 21, 2011 - 1:25pm Kyiia Clark

Oh Kimberly. Shut up. you know nothing. If you actually read what I said you would see that I said Breastfeeding it a beautiful thing. We just shouldn't have to see it. It being the actual breast. It's called tact and being courteous. You can breastfeed with a nursing cloth covering up. This is a BEAUTIFUL moment, just the whole world shouldn't have to see her breast to make it such. So listen before you comment Kim. And I chew with my mouth closed. You should learn how to do it too before you find something else not so pleasant in it. I'm just saying...

he is gonna be so handsome! its beautiful and natural. congrats to the both of them. breastfeading is a beautiful and natural bond between the mother and baby even though it sucks.

This is a beautiful class picture. i have no idea why people have an issue with it. She's already a VS model, I've already seen a lot of side boob from her just modeling

  • January 19, 2011 - 6:09pm Kimberly Paric

Kyiia, when you pull a tablecloth over your head while you eat, then you can tell a breastfeeding mother to cover her nursing baby! I'm glad Miranda put out a picture of her nursing. Breastfeeding needs to be normalized so idiots like Kyiia, Judy, and Mike will quit sexualising it.

  • January 19, 2011 - 2:37pm Kyiia Clark

I'm sorry. Breastfeeding is a BEAUTIFUL thing. It's the best thing you can do for your baby. But I'm sorry. WE DO NOT NEED TO SEE YOU DO IT. It's called cover up your boob. We can't even see what the baby even looks like. Geesh :-(

@Judy: I can't believe you are comparing a beautiful, tasteful pic of a mom breastfeeding her baby to a crass pic of a man urinating! I have a feeling your breasts never went near your baby or you would not think of breasts that are feeding a child as something needing to be private. She doesn't have her nipple showing or anything.

  • January 19, 2011 - 1:51pm Melissa Mune

I don't know why everyone's so up in arms over breastfeeding- it's wonderful! Besides, we see more of her breasts in V Secret ads. Who cares?

  • January 19, 2011 - 12:28pm Judy Weddle Fiely

my son was 9 lb 10 1/2 oz. had to have him C-section. more power to you lady!!!:) can't see the baby but maybe they will put out some more pics. people don't want to be private anymore. soon we'll see guys on here urinating!
