Nick Cannon: Mariah Carey Wanted Twins Born During Her "Fantasy" Song

According to hubby Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey's delivery of their twins "was a production."

"Now my wife wanted to make sure that when the babies came out, that they came out not only to a Mariah Carey song, but a live performance from Mariah Carey -- her Madison Square performance of 'Fantasy' -- so they came out to a round of applause," he said in an appearance on The Gayle King Show on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, which airs Friday.

The 42-year-old first-time mom gave birth to the couple's son and daughter on Saturday, April 30 in L.A.; four days later the proud parents announced the twins' names: Moroccan Scott and Monroe. Cannon explained their unique name choices: "Of course we got to keep our celebrity weirdness up!"

So does Cannon, 30, ever get tired of being called Mr. Mariah Carey? "At times it used to frustrate me," he admitted. "When I step back and look at my life as a whole, I could be called a lot of worse things than Mr. Mariah Carey."

i feel sorry for the names for the babies! those names are to out there! if they go to public school they be a target of being made fun of and they never let them live it down! so please think about yall have done to the poor children by doing that to them!!!!! @Lavina, you are so right about the head swells of these celebs. I love it when I hear them say things like, 'I don't pay attention to the haters online'. You know, maybe they SHOULD once in a while. I don't believe in insulting celebs on the way they look or what they weigh, but when they are outright conceited and think it's cute to be a diva when all it really means is they are rude and egotistical, maybe THAT'S when they should listen to what the public has to say about them. The sad thing is that Nick Cannon - who's just as self-absorbed as his wife - thinks it's cute to to have such a conceited wife. Neither one of them can see their own behavior as nauseating.

Shannon, you can bet your buns Mariah was completely numb through the entire birth. This woman needs an assistant to hold a straw to her mouth so she can drink, there's no way she's going to be feeling an ounce of pain for even one second. She's a great singer, but a deplorable human being. Sad that she can't see that.

I use to be one of the biggest MC fans, until she got divorced. After that, she changed, her true personality came out and she is just too self absorbed. Again, sometimes this is what happens when you have a bunch of "yes" people around you. Your head swells.

I agree with Sarah White Wutzler. Mariah is totally full of herself. Only she would say that. Also the baby names are silly. I used to be a big fan of Mariah Carey. She used to be my all time favorite singer. Not anymore. Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood etc.

Yeah, well she should consider herself lucky that she could even hear her song. I was in so much pain when I gave birth that I could care less about people talking, let alone a song!
