While promoting AOL's #CandidlyNicole in New York City on April 30, 2013, Nicole Richie joked that her 5-year-old daughter Harlow is "about to enter college" and that her 3-year-old son Sparrow "is going to the Olympics for speed skating."

Nicole Richie is the queen of deadpan delivery. While promoting her new AOL Web series #CandidlyNicole during the Digital Content NewFront event in New York City Apr. 30, the 31-year-old mother of two jokingly shared some of her children's latest milestones with Us Weekly.

"Harlow is about to enter college because she's a genius, and Sparrow is going to the Olympics for speed skating this coming fall," Richie said. All kidding aside, the designer's 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son "like to play around with all my fashion stuff," she revealed.

Should they want to follow in her fashionable footsteps, Richie would gladly assist in making their dreams come true. "We'll have to see," the Saint Laurent-clad star said of her children's futures. "I try to stand back and support."

For now, Joel Madden's wife of two years is focused on documenting their kids' cutest moments. "Kids are so funny. My mom told me you should write down every cute thing that they do because you will forget," Richie said. "Joel and I really write down every adorable thing they do and save them."

Every so often, the Fashion Star mentor catches herself laughing at inappropriate times. "When my son falls down, I just think it's so funny," she told Us. "I know it's horrible, but it is so funny and he doesn't have that far to go down anyway. It's so, so bad of me!"

Her family aside, Richie is excited to be giving her fans an inside look at her life via the web series #CandidlyNicole. The web series' title is appropriate for the House of Harlow 1960 designer, whose tweets are followed by more than 4 million fans. "I don't wish I could take any back, but my husband gets mad at me when I take it too far," she said of her laugh-out-loud Twitter musings. "I just tell him that it's art. He then asks me, 'What kind of art?' and I fall asleep because I don't have an answer."
