Princess Charlotte’s Official Christening Photos Will Be Taken by Legendary Photographer Mario Testino

A Kensington Palace rep confirmed to Us Weekly that legendary fashion photographer Mario Testino will be taking Princess Charlotte's official Christening party photos -- get the details.

Guess who? Princess Charlotte will have a very prominent photographer taking her official photos at her christening party this Sunday. Kensington Palace confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, June 30, that renowned shutterbug Mario Testino will be capturing special moments from the christening party following the baptism of Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s 2-month-old daughter.

“Mario Testino will take the official photographs of the christening party following Princess Charlotte’s baptism on Sunday,” the rep tells Us. “Mr. Testino has photographed members of the Royal Family on several previous occasions and took the official photographs of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the occasion of their engagement.”

According to the palace, both mum and dad are thrilled about Testino’s involvement. “The Duke and Duchess are delighted that Mario Testino will help capture this important moment for their family and look forward to sharing the photographs with the public,” the statement continues. “Throughout his career, Mr. Testino has also photographed The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry, and Diana, Princess of Wales.”

Testino echoed their sentiments as well. “I am overwhelmed and honored to be chosen to document this occasion,” the Peruvian-British photographer continued. “And to carry on the documentation of the family that is the soul of this country, a country that has given me so much.”

The world-famous photographer, who’s beloved for his ethereal, beautifully lit work, has captured celebrities like Madonna, Gisele Bundchen, Meg Ryan, Kate Moss, and Gwyneth Paltrow in iconic images. He works frequently with Vogue, Allure, W, and many more fashion publications. In October 2013, the photographer was honored with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) from Queen Elizabeth II, for his charity work. He has photographed Will, Kate, and George too.

Just one day before the news was confirmed to Us, Testino shared an old image via Instagram he had taken of Prince Charles with his sons Princes William and Harry. “MY PICTURE OF PRINCES WILLIAM AND HARRY WITH THEIR FATHER THE PRINCE OF WALES,” Testino wrote, alongside the stunning black and white shot. “THE ROYAL MARSDEN’S #FATHERANDSONDAY CAMPAIGN ARE ASKING PEOPLE TO POST PHOTOS OF THEIR FATHER AND SON MOMENTS TO HELP RAISE AWARENESS OF MALE CANCER. As previously reported by Us Weekly, Princess Charlotte — the fourth in line to the throne — will be christened on Sunday, July 5, at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby. Guests include her parents, her big brother Prince George, 23 months, great-grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, and her grandparents Prince Charles, Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, and Michael and Carole Middleton.
