As previously reported, Mohamed was handcuffed and questioned by authorities when teachers believed he brought a hoax bomb to his English class in Texas. His story went viral, with the teen quickly gaining support from celebrities and POTUS himself.

"Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House?" Obama tweeted on Sept. 16. "We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great."

Following POTUS' shout-out, Mohamed was personally invited by the President's top science adviser, Dr. John Holdren, to attend Astronomy Night. The event will bring students, teachers, and scientists together.

"We think Ahmed will fit right in," Dr. Holdren shared in a White House blog post last month. "That's because we think it's really important that kids with a passion for science and technology have the opportunities they need to reach for the stars (sometimes, that's literal)."

He added: "Ahmed, you inspire us — and we can't wait to meet you. P.S. — Don’t forget your NASA shirt. I’ll be wearing mine."

Mohamed, meanwhile, has decided to switch schools since the incident. "He's certainly welcome back," MacArthur High School's director of communications Lesley Weaver told ABC News last month. "We're confident that we can continue to provide him with an excellent education, but we want him to feel safe along with the other 2,800-plus students on campus."
