The five-minute clip details the early days of Peterson’s acting career, showing footage and photos of the star as a stunning young woman. Much of the video comes from the time Peterson spent filming and promoting her breakout hit, 1987’s Can’t Buy Me Love

The star, whose cause of death has yet to be determined, famously appeared in Can’t Buy Me Love as the popular, pretty cheerleader Cindy Mancini opposite Patrick Dempsey‘s dorky Ronald Miller. Peterson continued to act throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s before ending her career in Hollywood with her part in 1994’s WindRunner.

Set to Eddie Vedder‘s “Rise,” the video opens with the words, “Amanda Peterson. July 8, 1971 – July 3, 2015. Precious child of God, now home and free.” Peterson is then shown as an adorable little girl, growing up into her role in Can’t Buy Me Love. The music stops for Peterson to give an interview about her role in the teen classic, reflecting on the relationship between Cindy and Ronald. The music picks back up as family photos are shown and Peterson is pictured as an adult.

In the days since Peterson’s untimely death in Greeley, Colo. on July 3, the actress’ family has mourned their loss, with Peterson’s mother, Sylvia Peterson, telling Us, “I just think she was a precious person and it’s a big loss. That’s all I can say.” Watch Peterson’s tribute in the video above.
