Avril Lavigne Confirms: "Deryck and I Are Separating"

It's official: Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are separating.
After Us Weekly first reported that the couple had split after three years of marriage, Lavigne, 25, took to her blog to share the news.

"Deryck and I have been together for six and a half years," she wrote. "We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."
She concluded, "Thank you to all my family, friends and fans for all your support."
According to an Us insider, Whibley, 29, "is crushed" by her decision.

"She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on," another source told the new Us Weekly, adding that Lavigne forced him out of their $9.5 million, 12,000-square-foot estate in L.A.'s Bel Air. "Divorce papers will be filed any day now."

Not only that, consider that Deryck's side of the story has not been given a fair hearing in the media. What could have happened is that he advised / warned her not to cheat etc and eventually got really fed up, then blew up at her at some point over her stupidity. Surely, enough is enough and no 'real' man would just stand by while his wife starts sampling other men - that's just gross and demeaning. So it's highly possible that Deryck is the one that 'gave Avril the boot' but it is being made to seem like it's the other way round from Avril's camp. Just pathetic! I remember reading someone's post a few weeks ago about how karma is gonna come back to bite Avril in the ass for her lying / stupid ways. Tada. Reality bites.
What's blatantly obvious here is that Avril is trying to absolve herself of any and all blame at all in her statement - and this is a lame, lame cover up! What's actually going on is Avril has been / was cheating on Deryck all this while with a string of sleazeballs - showing her true colours. You need only look at some of the pictures that have emerged in the press that point to this, lying on other men's laps while still married etc. I am so sick of people playing the " let's all just be nice " schtick when any fool can see that Avril is a sad attention seeker and has been dishonest on more than one occasion. If there is anybody who realises this the most, it's Deryck. The public statement she released was probably fed to her by her publicist to try and prevent any backlash in view of the upcoming album release (let's not forget Deryck probably invested the bulk of the effort into making the album, so there's another reason to loathe the opportunistic & incompetent Avvie!).
yet another one bites the dust. do any of these celebs consider real life feelings of their partner before they say i do? this isn't a script, and theres no back up band. its real life, real feelings.
be nice to avril. she has made a decision, and we should respect it. avril is a nice person and she and deryck will be fine. They are nice friends, but I guess they weren't made to be married together forever.

If I'd known what my stupid ex was going to do to me later after 19 yrs., then I wouldn't have married him. How do we all know our futures?, and if we could, then there'd be alot less crap in this world. It doesn't really have anything to do with religion. I was just too naive & stupid at 19 yrs. old & marrying a man who was 7 yrs. older & controlling. I'd still divorce him even if it were today that my eyes opened.
If marriage is not until death does you part then there's no point in getting married in the first place. That goes for anyone regardless of their religion.

I'm a Christian woman but not southern & believe I hold the same values in regards to marriage that you do Anon 1:43. But the truth is, my husband wanted another 19 yr. old after I'd turned 38 yrs. old, stretched out by 3 kids (1 set of twins) and divorce wasn't an option those 19 yrs. I was married to him but he strayed & didn't care. What?, I'm supposed to STILL put up with that because of my Christian values?
Everyone is bashing her because "she didnt take her vows seriously" or "she didnt love him" people make mistakes, people fall out of love. She was young when she married. For some it last for some it doesnt. Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes.
Then why get married at all if you are just going to divorce. marriages that arent worked on dont last. I like the idea that the gay man has about making divorce illegal in california, i say every state should do it. Of course I would have special circumstances that would allow a divorce to be granted but too many people have the mndset that if it doenst work out I can just divorce them, For me as a southern woman and christian divorce isnt an option
