UPDATED Jul. 11, 2014 AT 1:00PM
UPDATE: TMZ reports Bendik was found in bed "face down" by a hotel housekeeper. Law enforcement sources tell the site no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found in Bendik's hotel room. An incident report makes no mention of any alcohol, medications, or weapons in the room, either. Bendik also had no injuries to his body.
TMZ reports Bendik's death is still being called a "sudden death" by police at this time.
Glee star Becca Tobin's boyfriend Matt Bendik has been found dead in a Philadelphia hotel room, TMZ reports.
The Philadelphia Medical Examiner confirmed to the outlet that Bendik's body had been found, but would give no further details.
According to the report, a hotel maid found the body of Bendik, a 35-year-old nightclub owner, in his hotel room on the afternoon of Thursday, July 10. Tobin, 28, who plays Kitty Wilde on the FOX TV series, was apparently not in Philadelphia at the time, despite earlier reports.
The outlet reported that Bendik had spent the evening of Wednesday, July 9, out on the town with friends, and everything appeared normal.
And just hours before the tragic incident, it was business as usual for Tobin, who shared a shoe giveaway with fans via Instagram, from one of her favorite ethical fashion brands. Weeks earlier, Tobin posted a sweet black-and-white snapshot kissing "#Bendik" on the cheek.
Bendik was the owner of several clubs across the country, including West Hollywood's DBA nightclub in Los Angeles. The celebrity hotspot posted a tribute to their deceased owner on the notice board outside the club on Thursday night. It read, simply, "We love you Matt."

Bendik's unexpected and unexplained death comes just days before the anniversary of another tragic Glee passing. Sunday, July 13, will mark a year since Cory Monteith's sad death. The 31-year-old star died of a drug overdose in a Vancouver hotel in 2013.
