Tell Us how you really feel, Batman! Ben Affleck, who's remained silent after his ex Jennifer Garner spilled many new, emotional details about their split in a no-holds-barred cover story with Vanity Fair, finally broke his silence on Monday, March 14.

According to the New York Times, Affleck was initially reticent to discuss the demise of his high-profile marriage "for the sake of his three children." His reasoning to the paper was: "Because it ends up being in the record somewhere, in the great miasma of junk on the Internet."

However, he eventually dished out more details to the paper, discussing the state of his relationship with Garner after the intimate piece was released. “Jen’s great. She’s a great person," the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor, 43, said. "We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in."

Affleck confirmed that he had a heads-up about the Vanity Fair piece. “She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with," the actor recalled. "So she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it — I don’t want to do it again.’”

In Vanity Fair's March 2016 cover story, Garner unloaded details about her 2015 split from Affleck, touching on everything from the now-infamous nanny scandal to claims about infidelity during their marriage. She even discussed Affleck's enormous back tattoo of a phoenix, which he had done after their split, as well kissing for the first time eight months after they broke up.

“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him,” the Miracles From Heaven actress said to the mag. “And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”

The parents of Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4, confirmed to Us Weekly on June 30, 2015, that they were splitting after 10 years of marriage.

"You have to have two people to dance a marriage," Garner told VF. "My heart’s a little on the tender side right now, and it’s always easier to focus on the ways that you feel hurt, but I know that, with time and some perspective, I’ll have a clearer sense of where I let the system down, because there’s no way I get off in this."
