Best wedding dance ever! Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' surprise Sept. 9, 2012 wedding was shrouded in secrecy at the time, and fresh details about the affair -- held at Boone Hill Plantation in Mount Pleasant South Carolina -- are still spilling out over a year later. And although the couple's neighbor Martha Stewart helped plan the tasteful bash, Lively's older sister, Robyn Lively, made sure to add a dash of '80s awesomeness to the occasion: The Teen Witch dance!
An actress just like her sister, Robyn, 41, is perhaps best known for her lead role in the 1989 teen comedy-fantasy Teen Witch. Featuring a synthesizer-heavy soundtrack of original songs, the beloved campy classic concludes with (spoiler alert!) cute witch Louise (Lively), landing the hottest guy in school, Brad (Dan Gauthier), and the pair perform a choreographed love dance at prom.
"My younger sister and younger brother [Eric Lively] are huge Teen Witch fans," Lively recounted recently on the Pop My Culture podcast. "So for my younger sister's wedding, my younger brother and I got together and figured out how to do that last scene, the 'Finest Hour' dance."
She explained: "We were watching it and pausing it. I have the best video and photos of this!"
With Blake, 26, and Reynolds, 36, looking on, "We surprised her at the wedding," Robyn said.
And Robyn and Eric got everything right, down to the last detail. "I got a blue dress, a blue tutu and the music comes on. I had the necklace remade. I took it off and threw it to her. We did the whole dance! Everyone else that was there was coming up to me talking about Teen Witch being their favorite."
