Friends forever! Bradley Cooper told Howard Stern in a new interview on Wednesday, Oct. 21, that he will “never” sleep with his frequent costar Jennifer Lawrence — regardless of how young he dates.
The Burnt actor, 40, who’s famously starred alongside the gorgeous Oscar-winning actress, 25, in numerous, critically acclaimed, award-winning films including Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, Serena, and Joy, explained why their relationship is purely platonic to Stern on his SiriusXM radio show.
“Bradley, what is going on there? Jennifer Lawrence. You’re doing another movie with her,” Stern asked the American Sniper hunk. “Is she becoming the woman you have the most chemistry with? What is going on?”
“It’s due to David O. Russell, that’s what’s happening,” Cooper said of the director and screenwriter. “We did Silver Linings Playbook together. We got along great.”
And it stops there. “It just didn’t happen,” Cooper continued of any romantic connection with Lawrence, whom he would “never” have sex with. “It’s not the way we are together.”
The 15-year age difference isn’t even the issue. “I said that once on a red carpet just as a diffuse thing,” Cooper recalled. “And then it became a thing because the girl I was seeing [Suki Waterhouse, 23] was as young as she was.”
Lawrence reiterated this point in an interview with Us Weekly this past spring. “No sex!” she assured Us of their dynamic.
Cooper, whose exes include Renee Zellweger and Zoe Saldana, is currently dating model Irina Shayk. Meanwhile, Lawrence was last linked to her on-again, off-again boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, and Coldplay rocker (Gwyneth’s Paltrow’s ex) Chris Martin.
