Afternoon activity. Bristol Palin is raising eyebrows after she shared a photo of her 7-year-old son, Tripp, shooting a gun.
The newly married mom of two, 25, posted a snapshot from their outing via Instagram on Friday, July 29. “#trapper #safetyfirst #teachingthemyoung,” she wrote. In the pic, the mother-son duo are both wearing headphones and goggles. Palin stands behind her son while he points a gun near a wooded area.
Some commenters weren’t thrilled about Palin’s parenting. “My twins are almost 7 and I would never consider this,” one commented on the photo. A second added: “MORON.”
Others didn’t seem to mind. “Hell yes! #parentingdoneright,” one posted. A second wrote: “good job mama @bsmp2 keep it up!”
Palin’s husband, medal of honor recipient Dakota Meyer, doesn’t have an issue with firearms either. (The couple married last month and are parents to daughter Sailor, 5 months. The Dancing With the Stars alum shares Tripp with her ex Levi Johnston.) On Tuesday, July 26, Meyer, 28, posted a photo of his gun on the kitchen counter next to Sailor, who was resting in a car seat.
“Carrying has always been important to me for my own safety, but now it is imperative because now I have someone relying on me,” the U.S. Marine vet wrote at the time. “Every day, everywhere I go, every time I carry and am honors to be using the Blood Stripe holster from @gcodeholsters.”
