Britney Spears Spent Weekend With Beau Despite Split Report

What a circus: Despite E! News' report that Britney Spears and boyfriend Jason Trawick have broken up, multiple insiders tell UsMagazine.com that it's more complicated than that.
Over the weekend, the couple was spotted at L.A.'s Mondrian Hotel, and also spent time together at Spears' home, according to a source.

"They are on and off," another pal tells Us of Spears, 28, and her Hollywood agent Trawick, 37.
A rep for the singer had no comment on the latest breakup rumor.

Spears and Trawick have been dating since spring 2009; he stood by her as a friend during her darkest moments, including her hospitalization in a psychiatric facility in early 2008, when she lost custody of her two young sons.

"Most everyone else abandoned her, but Jason refused to be completely cut out of Britney's life," a source said. "He's very protective of her."
Even the pop star's mother is rooting for them. "Lynne said, 'He's the kind of man you would dream of your daughter marrying. The kids love him, and he's stable,'" a Spears friend told Us Weekly last October.
