Another angel! Just one day after Drew Barrymore welcomed her second child, best friend Cameron Diaz couldn’t help but gush about the baby girl while promoting The Other Woman. The actress opened up about Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman’s newborn Frankie during a Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon appearance on Wednesday, April 23.
“We had a baby girl!” the 41-year-old gushed. “I’m very excited. I’m going home this weekend and I’m going to meet her right away. Little baby Frankie Barrymore Kopelman!” Fallon added: “Frankie is so cute! I love it.”
“I feel like I know her already,” Diaz said. “This weekend I spent with her and Will. On Saturday I got her game face on for the birth, making sure she was ready. And she said, ‘I’m so ready! Get it out of me!’ I was like, ‘Two more days! You can do it.'”
Barrymore, 39, and art consultant Kopelman, 37, welcomed their second daughter on April 22. (The married couple of two years are already parents to daughter Olive, 19 months.) Diaz and the second-time mom have been friends for years, starring in the Charlie’s Angels film franchise with Lucy Liu.
Like Diaz, Fallon was overjoyed to hear of Barrymore’s new addition. (The host’s wife Nancy and the actress have co-owned Flower Films together since 1995.) However, while he had Diaz on air, he managed to squeeze in time to discuss when she pranked his daughter Winnie, whom he welcomed via surrogate back in July 2013.
“She fell asleep first!” Diaz said of attending a bachelorette party with the little one. “That’s what happens when you fall asleep at a party.” Fallon quipped: “She’s a baby Cameron!”
So, what happened? Diaz dipped Winnie’s hand in a warm glass of water while she was asleep—and took a snapshot to prove it!
“It wasn’t funny because she peed in her diaper,” Fallon joked. “It was embarrassing!”
