Real Housewives of New York star Carole Radziwill is thankful that her boyfriend, Adam Kenworthy, is safe and sound. The thrill-seeking chef was involved in a plane crash in Iowa on Thursday, May 19, but luckily left the scene largely unharmed.
“Adam was very lucky,” the reality star and author told Us Weekly in a statement. “He walked away from the crash. He was admitted to the hospital right afterwards and released last night. He is doing well.”
Kenworthy’s father, David, however, was also injured in the crash and remains hospitalized. Earlier in the day, Kenworthy shared a gorgeous video to Instagram of a colorful sky above the clouds.
“NYC [to] Iowa,” he captioned the clip. Piloting planes is nothing new to Kenworthy; he has shared other posts of himself flying a small family plane with his dad before.
(Many may recall that Radziwill’s best friend, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, tragically died in a July 1999 plane crash along with her husband, John Kennedy Jr., and her older sister, Lauren.)
Radziwill, who previously dated George Clooney and Ralph Fiennes, has been dating much-younger Kenworthy for just over a year, much to the chagrin of Luann de Lesseps.
On a May 2015 episode of Real Housewives, de Lesseps sniped on-camera that it was a “little weird” that Radziwill was dating her niece’s ex.
“He’s a little young and he’s my niece’s ex-boyfriend, so what can I tell you?” de Lesseps said at the time.
