Controversial beauty queen Carrie Prejean has tied the knot.

The former Miss California USA, 23, wed Oakland Raiders quarterback Kyle Boller, 28, Friday at The Grand Del Mar hotel in San Diego, Calif., her hometown.

The 25-minute ceremony was "beautiful," a witness tells E! News. "They had cocktails on the lawn right after. Everyone seemed really happy."

Prejean wore a gorgeous one-shoulder mermaid-style gown, according to E!, while Boller and his fellow groomsmen donned black tuxedos.

After bidding farewell to her six bridesmaids, she and Boller were whisked away in a white Rolls Royce Phantom, E! reports.

The two got engaged this past February.

Prejean made headlines last April when pageant judge Perez Hilton asked her if she supported gay marriage. "In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," she replied. "No offense to anybody there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be, between a man and a woman."

Her response outraged Hilton and others in the Miss California community. Hilton launched a crude attack against her. Organizer Keith Lewis even released a statement: "As co-director of the Miss California USA, I am personally saddened and hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman."

Prejean only continued to irk her enemies when she began working for the National Organization for Marriage.

Scandal returned a short time later when semi-nude photos of her began hitting the web.

She almost lost her crown, but Donald Trump, who owns the Miss USA and Miss Universe organizations, allowed her to keep her title because he said "the pictures taken were fine."

On June 10, however, Prejean was fired for violating her contract and "unwillingness to make appearances on behalf" of the organization, according to pageant officials.

But in an in interview with Access Hollywood, Prejean claimed otherwise: "None of this would be happening right now if I just said, 'Yeah, gays should get married. You're right, Perez Hilton.'"

First runner-up Tami Farrell replaced her as Miss California USA.

I am a straight woman. I used to have no opinion of gays and just thought that they were the same as everyone else until I became friends with a few gay men. I then learned, the hard way, what bitter, sick and messed up people they are and they are so filled with such burning bitterness and dangerous rage at the rest of the world (and each other)that I now believe that all gay people, upon "coming out" should be jailed for life.

Im a straight female and I used to have no opinion on gays. I just thought that they were normal people until I became friends with some of them and learned the hard way what screwed up and painfully bitter people they are. Now I feel like they are such dangerous deviants so consumed with bitter and rage that every gay person should, upon coming out of the closet, be jailed for life.

Opinions don't mean one hates. Stop using the worn-out H word. It's getting OLD!!! No matter how much you complain, you still can't produce a 'little one' with your partner. Hint Hint -- shared DNA. Sorry, passing off something else's kid (strangers, sisters, etc.) as your won is NOT the same as having your own thru traditional intercourse. IDIOTS.

Why are you bringing up "if a man beats his wife"? It seems like your associating heterosexuality with abuse. You've been watching too much of the media circus. Your comment is offensive. I know plenty of loving heterosexual people (non-divorced, loving, good values) who do not fit your distorted views. You need to expand your mind. This is one flaw in the gay argument. Gays try to justify or defend their orientation by picking out insignificant details filtered thru their own twisted perceptions. So if a hetero couple gets divorced, or doesn't treat each other right, or can't have kids for medical reasons, etc. that makes GAY ok. Your argument in trying to sway the general population that gay is normal by coming up with any reason under the sun (even bashing heterosexuality) just does NOT work. As someone who was born from a man/woman, in other words, MOTHER AND FATHER, I know what normal is and I know what I'm talking about. Kids should only be adopting by a hetero couple so the kid can at least have a mom and dad. I don't approve of two moms or two dads. How silly.

It doesn't matter if a hetero couple can't make a baby. Why are you comparing gays not making a baby to them? Heterosexuality is ALWAYS the correct arrangement, whether or not a man/woman can make a baby. Same gender sexual love is WRONG WRONG WRONG. And don't call me sad. Because I'm RIGHT. I'm smart and I know what I'm talking about. Even if a hetero couple adopts, at least the child will have a mother and a father or male and female parental figure. Quit with your nonsensical arguments. Gays never make sense. I was born from a mother and father so I KNOW what NORMAL is. I was born because of heterosexuality. I come from a non-divorced family and loving home. Traditional families is what is normal. Come back with your argument when a person is born from a gay arrangment. NOPE, will never happen. You have to get outside help. You have to adopt and raise a child that is not yours biologically. I approve of a heterosexual couple adopting over a gay couple adopting because at least the child will have a MOTHER AND FATHER. Get that into your thick head. Oh, it may be too dense to figure this logic out. How were you born? Think about this long and hard. Maybe one day heterosexuality will makes some sense to you and you'll start valuing the type of relationship.

NYC Baby- wait im a homophobic becuase I stated a fact? to most people she did put her best foot forward by staying true to her beliefs and prop 8 didn't pass in CA so most people obviously agreed with her, im glad she wasn't "politically correct" like I guess everyone from CA is supposed to be just becuase it is "diverse" people are still entitled to their own opinion...i can care less what people think. They can believe what they want to believe I don't care, what makes someones opinion wrong or right, you cant say I am wrong or a homophobic because I have a different opinion from you, for you information I have co-workers and friends that are gay and I don't tell them how to live their life, its their life but I can still have my OWN opinion, and I even voted for gay marriage on prop 8 (even if it was just for a trade off, i said i would vote for that if she didn't vote for Obama, I would rather have the gays get married then Obama be President, but you can't always get what you want hahaha)I just think it's STUPID that people make such a big deal over this, there are much bigger issues right now that we need to worry about as AMERICANS

  • July 05, 2010 - 6:28pm MM

carly: I feel sad for you. And there are MANY "male - female" couples who can screw and screw and never make a baby either. Does that mean they shouldn't be married. If a man beats his wife and kids will he look so much better in the eyes of God than a loving gay couple? DOUBT IT! I am not gay, just support them!!

  • July 05, 2010 - 4:17pm Beauty Queen

I hear she loves gay porn.

  • July 05, 2010 - 2:39pm Amber

The gays are so perverted even in their MIND that they keep saying how normal they are. There are no short cuts to biological, true-blood relations. Yes, mothers and fathers are important. How else do you think ppl get mothers and fathers? Out of knowwhere? Ppl are born from mothers and fathers. Use some logic. Gays are ridiculous. They just don't get it how life works.
