It's been nearly a year since Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher tied the knot, but they're still basking in wedded bliss — especially now that they both call the same city home!
"It's been really nice," Underwood, 28, said Monday at the Billboard Country Music Summit in Nashville, where she and hockey star Fisher, 31, now live together following his recent trade from the Ottawa Senators to the Nashville Predators.
"He loves it here, and I love having him here," the former Idol champ added, admitting that life as a wife has softened her up considerably.
"I've never been one for mushy songs. I just don't do mush. I can do mad. I can do sassy," she explained. But with her guy? "The more I was around him…I'm becoming a sentimental weenie!"
The "Before He Cheats" singer doesn't even mind that Fisher's Canadian fans accused her as the culprit behind his Ottawa-to-Nashville trade. "He was shipped to Nashville, and I was subsequently blamed for that," Underwood said at Billboard's event. "I was like, I wish I had that much power in the universe. Don't mess with me or I'll ship you to Lord-Knows-Where, Alaska."
After about a year and a half of dating, the couple wed last July at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga.
