A lot of people probably wouldn't be thrilled to watch their ex date 25 women on national TV — but Andi Dorfman couldn't be happier for Chris Soules. After Soules was officially announced as the season 19 Bachelor on Wednesday, Aug. 27, Dorfman took to Twitter to congratulate Soules, who made it to her final three on season 10 of The Bachelorette. (She ultimately got engaged to former baseball player Josh Murray.)
"Congrats to the new Bachelor, C_Soules!" she tweeted. "So excited for you!!! Some woman is going to be very lucky if she wins that heart of yours!"
Soules, in fact, would have happily given his heart to Dorfman on The Bachelorette, but she sent him packing before their overnight date in the Dominican Republic. "I don't think it's fair to make you sit here for days and wait for a rose ceremony," she said at the time, tears in her eyes. "I just think I'd rather be honest with you and tell you that I'm trying and I'm trying but it's not there."
Prior to that, the two had been getting along swimmingly. Soules even hired a plane to fly over his farm in Iowa with a banner reading "Chris Loves Andi" during their hometown date in week eight. He was devastated when she broke up with him, but they've apparently stayed in touch in the months since.
Asked during a Twitter chat on Wednesday, Aug. 27, whether he'd gotten any advice from previous Bachelors and Bachelorettes, the soft-spoken farmer replied, "I've been able to remain friends with Andi and she encouraged me to just be myself!"
