The past is in the past! Chrissy Teigen revealed in a new interview that she often ends up being friendly with husband John Legend’s exes.
“I didn’t know it, but John used to be a notorious modelizer,” the 30-year-old model told Cosmopolitan. “To me, he was the sweetest teddy bear. What’s funny is that I get along with everyone he’s ever been with. I end up really liking them. After I see them, I’ll tell him, ‘Oh, I was on-set with your ex today — it was fun!’ … It was before me, so it’s fine.”
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model added that she and Legend, 37, haven’t always been as picture-perfect as they appear now, however. Back when they were first dating, she recounted, the singer tried to break up with her — for “literally, a day.”
“Early on in the relationship, I was on tour with him, and he’d gotten sick,” she told the magazine. “He was feeling really bummed and stressed out. He was like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship right now.’ That lasted for one day. Literally, a day. I knew it came from a place other than us not working … I always joke, ‘Remember when you tried to break up with me?’ He’s like, ‘Yes, sorry. Big mistake.’”
The duo, who met on the 2007 set of Legend’s video for his single “Stereo,” dated for several years before tying the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in Italy in 2013.
The proud parents welcomed their first child together earlier this year, and on Halloween, Teigen excitedly dressed little Luna up in a whole array of fun costumes, including a hot dog, a hula dancer and Minnie Mouse.
