Denver Broncos Beat New England Patriots for Spot in Super Bowl 50: Details

The Broncos are going to the Super Bowl! The Denver Broncos’ strong defense helped them capture a huge win against the New England Patriots on Sunday, January 24, earning them the AFC spot in Super Bowl 50.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tried to make a comeback in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, but the Broncos managed to hold on and take the victory.

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who now has the opportunity to win his second Super Bowl trophy, completed 17 of his 32 passing attempts, scored two touchdowns and had no interceptions. Brady, 38, completed 27 of 56 passing attempts, scored one touchdown and had two interceptions.

Manning, 39, wasn’t the only one excited about the Broncos' big win: Stars including former NBA player Magic Johnson and Empire actress Vivica A. Fox tweeted their congratulations.

“Wow! What a game between Payton Manning and Tom Brady!” Johnson, 56, wrote. “Patriots vs. Broncos lived up to all the hype!”

“Great team effort 2day by #PeytonManning n #DenverBroncos,” Fox, 51, posted. “#VonMiller n that DEFENSE yall did that! #SuperBowl50 IT’S ON ;)”
