Designer Alexander McQueen Hanged Himself, Coroner Confirms

Alexander McQueen hanged himself last week in his London apartment -- and left a note -- British coroners confirmed on Wednesday. The acclaimed fashion designer, beloved by such stars as Sarah Jessica Parker, Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Gwen Stefani and many others, died at age 40 from asphyxiation and hanging.
Full autopsy results will be available in a few months; the office has not yet formally ruled the death a suicide.

The coroner's office has not released the contents of McQueen's final note. But McQueen had Tweeted numerous messages days earlier in which he grieved about the recent death of his mother, referencing his "awful week."

On Monday, Lady Gaga tearfully paid tribute to McQueen while accepting a trophy at the Brit Awards in London. "Thank you Lee McQueen," she said quietly (using the designer's first name).

Last week, Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour called McQueen "one of the greatest talents of his generation...His passing marks an insurmountable loss."

Another sad example of how money does not buy happiness.
It is always sad when someone thinks life is so horrible that they don't want to live. I don't care who they are or what they have done in their lives, it's always sad.
