New BFFs? Donald Trump and Sarah Palin kept it friendly during One America News Network’s On Point on Friday, Aug. 28. Palin interviewed the GOP presidential candidate along with fellow White House hopefuls Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush.
Needless to say, Trump’s interaction with the former vice president candidate was far different than his previous discussions with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. "You are a terrific person," Trump, 69, told Palin.
Trump specifically gave his two cents about religion and veterans during the sit-down.
“The country was based on the middle class and they are being treated horribly,” he said. “The vets have been treated terribly. If I win…believe me, the vets will be taken care of."
As for religion, he said the Scriptures are his favorite part, followed by The Art of the Deal. “I love the Bible,” he told Palin. “That’s a very personal thing. I don’t like giving that out to people you hardly know.”
The former Alaska governor, 51, also brought up Trump’s recent run-in with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos. Earlier this week, Trump told the Latino reporter to go back to Univision after he talked out of turn during an Iowa press conference Tuesday. Palin put Ramos in the category of “idiots in the press” and called him a “radical activist."
As previously reported, Trump is quite fond of Palin. So much so, that he said he wouldn’t mind if she joined his administration if he wins the 2016 presidential election.
"She really is somebody who knows what's happening and she's a special person," Trump said in a recent interview with Mama Grizzly Radio. "She's really a special person and I think people know that… Like me, she's got people that don't exactly love us and we understand who they are and sort of forget about that. But she has a tremendously loyal group of people out there for her."
