Just in case you missed it: Kristen Stewart is human too. The actress, who was caught in a headline-making cheating scandal with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders last July, has found a staunch supporter in a fellow internationally-known young actress: Emma Watson.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower star opened up to Vanity Fair Italia in a recent interview and defended her silver screen peer's actions, saying that Twilight fans may have been unfairly harsh to Stewart.
"Those who criticized her are the same people that think that being rich and famous is like being covered in some kind of magic powder that makes life perfect. Nothing can go wrong in your wonderful world," Watson, 22, told the magazine. "For these people, Kristen deserves all the bad things that have been thrown at her because she had an amazing life and she ruined it."
Stewart, also 22, issued a statement apologizing for her actions after being snapped making out with her much-older director Sanders, 42, in several photos obtained exclusively by Us Weekly.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she said in a statement at the time. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
The On the Road actress has since been keeping a low profile after reconciling with her Twilight costar Robert Pattinson, 26, back in September 2012.
"Everyone makes mistakes, everyone," the Harry Potter star continued. "On one hand, I can understand why it happened: people felt really involved in her relationship with Robert Pattinson. But it's also true that they both have done everything in their power to keep their relationship as far from the public eye as possible."
In a much-needed girls' night out last November, Watson, Stewart and fellow Hollywood A-lister Jennifer Lawrence, also 22, spent some quality time together.
"I think people assume that actresses don't want to [be friends]," Stewart told MTV about their bonding night. "It was kind of a great feeling, to be honest. I was like, 'This is kind of just awesome.'"
