Giuliana Rancic: I Haven’t Spoken to Kelly Osbourne Since Fashion Police Fallout

Water under the bridge? Not so much. Kelly Osbourne was so put off by Giuliana Rancic‘s post-Oscars commentary about pal Zandaya Coleman that she exited E!’s Fashion Police in March, and as it turns out, Rancic herself isn’t ready to kiss and make up just yet, either. “I haven’t talked to [Kelly or Kathy Griffin] since the incident,” the E! News host, 40, said in a HuffPost Live interview April 7. “There’s nothing good that can come of trying to speak for them, [or guess] what they meant by their comments.”

Arguing that Fashion Police‘s cast and crew just didn’t mesh as well after Joan Rivers‘ September 2014 death without the lengendary comedienne at the helm, Rancic opined that the remixed Fashion Police was doomed from the start.

“When Fashion Police came back on after Joan’s death, it was the exact same format that they had created for Joan, but it couldn’t succeed. She was so unique in the way she delivered comedy — the format was built around her,” Rancic said.

On March 17, following the departures of both Griffin and Osbourne, E! announced the series would go on hiatus for several months. However, the bad blood between Osbourne and Rancic didn’t start to simmer — it boiled over.

Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne

A day prior to the April 7 release of Rancic’s memoir, Going Off Script, Osbourne fired off a pointed tweet that a source tells Us Weekly was aimed squarely at her former coworker. “Liars always get caught,” Osbourne’s message read. (Prior to her HuffPost Live interview, Rancic defended her comments about Zendaya to Today‘s Savannah Guthrie, arguing that her “smells like patchouli oil” comments were not edited in the way she intended.)

“The tweet is definitely about Giuliana,” the source told Us. “They’re totally feuding.”

During her chat with HuffPost Live, Rancic did not directly address Osbourne’s most recent tweet, but took aim at Internet bullies in general. “The only thing a negative comment can do is ruin my day. Instead of getting off social media altogether, there is so much good that outweighs the bad,” she said.

“Out of 10 comments, nine out of 10 are positive,” continued the reality star, who has also been criticized of late for her pin-thin frame. “I can’t let those few people chase me off of social media. I love engaging with viewers. I never want to lose that connection because of a few people who aren’t kind.”
