Battle of the Bennifers? Not so fast! Despite an unfounded rumor that Ben Affleck has been in regular contact with his ex-fiance Jennifer Lopez, and that their friendship contributed to his split from Jennifer Garner, sources tell Us Weekly that Lopez was in no way involved with the once-happy couple's recent decision to divorce.

"Jennifer Lopez had nothing to do with it," one insider tells Us of Garner and Affleck's breakup, which they announced on Tuesday, June 30, one day after their 10th wedding anniversary. Adds another source of the rumor: "Beyond not true, and s–ty."

As everyone no doubt remembers, the Batman v Superman star, 42, romanced the "Booty" singer, 45, back in the early aughts. Known to the world as Bennifer, they got engaged in November 2002 and planned to marry the next year. After postponing their September 2003 wedding, however, they called things off for good in January 2004.

Lopez has said in the past that the Gone Girl actor was her "first big heartbreak." But both she and Affleck have moved on from the Bennifer era, personally and professionally.

The American Idol judge, for one, went on to marry Marc Anthony just a few months after her split from Affleck. They had two kids together, twins Max and Emme, 7, before separating in 2011.

The Argo director, meanwhile, walked down the aisle with Garner, 43, in June 2005. The Daredevil costars have three kids together, daughters Violet, 9, and Seraphina, 6, and son Samuel, 3, of whom they'll share joint custody.

"They've been married for a long time and tried to make it work for many years," a source previously told Us of why the A-listers called it quits. "They eventually realized this is the best thing to do for their family. They don't want it to be contentious. A lot of people say that, but they are doing things to ensure that it won't be. There is a lot of love there, but they are doing what is best for everybody."
