Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are trying for their 20th child.

The stars of TLC's 19 Kids and Counting appeared on the TODAY show Friday morning to promote the new season of their show. Whenever the family makes an early morning TV appearance, they typically have some baby news to share, so TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie asked if they have another baby on the way.

"Not that I know of," Michelle said. "We would love to but we don't today." The couple did share that they are hoping to have more kids.

"We definitely are. We would love more if the Lord saw fit to give us more," the mother of 19 explained. "So, we will wait and see. But today isn't one of those days where we get to make that kind of announcement. I think our big announcement is that our new season is starting up."

"It is fun trying, though," Jim Bob said with a laugh.

"Jim Bob!" Guthrie said in shock. "You sly dog, you."

The parents were expecting their 20th child in April, but Michelle suffered a miscarriage in December. The new season of 19 Kids and Counting will show the Duggar family -- which includes Joshua (who is married with two kids of his own); twins Jana and John-David; Jill; Jessa; Jinger; Joseph; Josiah; Joy-Anna; twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah; Jason; James; Justin; Jackson; Johanna; Jennifer; and Jordyn and Josie -- coping with the loss and moving forward.

The family's hit TLC show returns Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. EST.
