Papa Joe's Floridian fun! Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's divorced dad Joe Simpson celebrated his 56th birthday with a long weekend in Miami's South Beach -- spending quality time in the sand and surf not with his famous daughters or grandkids, but with handsome male model Jonathan Keith.

Shirtless in a pair of plaid board shorts, Joe, whose actual birthday was Tuesday, Feb. 18, played amateur photographer on the beach as he photographed 21-year-old shirtless Keith -- showing off his buff bod in a pair of skimpy trunks -- emerging from the waves and laying on the sand on Sunday, Feb. 16.

The twosome also reclined side-by-side in the sun as the former minister was snapped smoking an unknown substance from a vaporizer-type device. The pair were later snapped touching down at LAX post-getaway on Tuesday. But Simpson was quick to shoot down speculation that he and the much-younger model were romantically involved. "More mis-information in the news," he tweeted. "The guy in the pics is my modeling Client. He was in Miami taking agency meetings. That's it!!" Simpson has been the subject of unconfirmed speculation about his sexuality since he and wife Tina split in late 2012.

A former minister, Joe has been manager for singer-actress daughters Jessica, 33, and Ashlee, 29, since their teen and tween careers began. After announcing their split in October 2012, he and Tina Simpson -- they both appeared on reality shows Newlyweds and The Ashlee Simpson Show -- finalized their divorce last April.

The parents of two and grandparents of three were married for 34 years. "It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false," a rep told Us Weekly at the time.
