Drama Down Under, Summer 2015

Depp and Heard made some pretty strange headlines last year after Australian government officials accused the two of illegally smuggling their Yorkshire terrier dogs, Pistol and Boo, into the country on a private plane.

The agricultural authority gave Depp an ultimatum of 72 hours: to either take the dogs home to L.A., or to hand them over to be euthanized. “If we start letting movie stars — even though they’ve been the sexiest man alive twice — to come into our nation [and break the laws], then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?” Australian Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce told ABC. “It’s time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States.”

While the pups made it home safe and sound, Heard was summoned on Wednesday, July 15, to an Australia court on two counts of illegally importing her pets, she was also charged on one count of producing an unspecified false document.
