Exclusive: Katy Perry and Russell Brand Engaged!

He kissed a girl, and she liked it: Katy Perry and Russell Brand are engaged, sources confirm exclusively to UsMagazine.com.
The wacky pair -- who've been dating since September 2009 -- became betrothed five days ago while on holiday in Jaipur, India. A pal says that Brand, 34, proposed with a ring, and that Perry, 25, happily accepted.

On Twitter Dec. 29, the pop singer shared a sweet snapshot of her and the British comedian in front of India's famed Taj Mahal. "He built this for me," she wrote beneath the photo.
The exotic trip, a Perry insider tells Us, "was his Christmas gift. She told him how much she loved Indian culture while they were eating curry in England, so he surprised her."

On New Year's Day, she shared another tourist photo: her hand being painted with a traditional Henna tattoo. ("Isn't it lovely?" she wrote.) The day before, she perhaps hinted at spontaneous decisions to come later that week: "In India, the motto...you gotta go with the flow..."

I'm glad they're head over heels in love but I think Katy should be careful that Russell doesn't get back his 'womanizer' image.
They both work it for their acts and he has been very candid about his past.She's had her pick of any man in the business. She knows who he really is and they get each other.Maybe, to each other's surprise, they fell in love, and have enjoyed a wonderful courtship. They don't need publicity! Wow, dating a whole 4 months. Wasn't it just a year ago she was gushing about being engaged to someone else? Sounds like someone just wants to get married. Although I like him in movies, he doesn't really strike me as marriage material. I'm sure her Christian parents are proud.

If this farce of a wedding ever happens, you just know that Vegas will be putting odds on how long (or rather SHORT) it'll last, and how much of a windfall Russell will rake in after the divorce. Given his history, this girl is certifiably stupid if she thinks he can remain monogamous for the rest of their lives. And don't give me that "people can change" crap.
